Fudo Kuniyuki (Genkai Masakuni) Mizu Honyaki Fuguhiki 300mm Blade Knife with Ebony Handle and Ebony Wood Cover

****Fudo Kuniyuki is the one of brand name that Genkai Masakuni made. Genkai Masakuni is the only one apprentice under Heian Okishiba Masakuni****

Okishiba Masakuni had been a pioneer to make high-end Mizu Honyaki cooking knife.

His Mizu Honyaki is famous for the sharpest edge and retaining longest sharp edge.

Even though masters working in Sakai high-end cutlery, they often talk about his work, and they collect his knife.

It is Fuguhiki, so it is skinnier and lighter than Yanagiba.

We can make faster performance than Yanagiba.

It is from used market, and it is a used knife, and it looks still very good condition to me.

I am not sure what kind of steel is used, but it should be Mizu Honyaki white steel or blue steel.

The original handle and saya are ebony, so it should be high grade steel.

The handle is ebony, and it had some minor damage on water buffalo ferrule, so I filled with epoxy that if I do not tell you, you cannot tell it.

However, I have not touched the blade yet, if you need to sharpen it and polish it, I will sharpen it before sending by mail by buyer’s request.

The saya is also ebony.

The blade length (from the tip to the Machi): 300mm (11 3/4inch)
The width from the heel to the spine: 26mm (1 inch)
The total length of the knife: 445mm (17 1/2inch)

The heel part of the spine width: 2mm (1/8 inch)

The total weight of the knife: 4.7oz.(129g)
