Nushiya is one of traditional Japanese crafts occupation to paint Japanese Urushi lacquer.
Nushiya Bocho is designed for making various type of wood spatula to paint Japanese lacquer.
I have heard that Nushiya people carry Nushiya bocho and sharpening stones, and move all over Japan, where they have jobs.
I meant what they have special skill, so they can get their jobs all over Japan with the knife and sharpening stones.
Japanese lacquer has to paint different shapes of materials, so the shapes of the spatulas are also the same variety.
Yoshihide is located at Sanjo, Niigata in Japan. Yoshihide (Mr. Masuda) is very reliable Kiridashi blacksmith who makes variety of Kiridashi.
Yoshihide Nushiya Bocho is reasonable price, but he still does puts together soft iron and steel by traditional way of the forge welding, not using composite material.
He uses also one of the highest quality pure carbon steel white II steel.
